Eliminating plastic wrap with paper-based packaging to align with PPWR and retail standards
Hortex, a leading Polish juice and preserves brand, sought sustainable packaging to meet new retail requirements and upcoming PPWR regulations banning single-use plastic in multipacks, while maintaining product quality and consumer appeal. To help replace their shrink wrap, we developed a recyclable multipack bottle carrier that met these standards.

The Challenge

Hortex, a leading juice and beverage producer in Poland, approached us to meet new retail requirements to eliminate plastic wrap from their multipacks. In addition, upcoming PPWR regulations will soon ban single-use plastic in multipacks. With this in mind we were tasked with developing a paper-based, recyclable alternative.

The Approach

After reviewing the client’s bottles, we designed a corrugated cardboard carrier that held multiple bottles, was easy to fold, and simple to use. Following successful transport tests by Hortex, the solution was quickly implemented, allowing for in-store promotion.
